100-Footer

A "100-footer" is playful community slang for a person whose queerness is so visible you could clock it from about a hundred feet away. It usually points to unmistakable cues in style, mannerism, or gender expression. The term is equal parts joke and compliment, most often used affectionately inside the community or as a proud self-description of someone who is visibly and unapologetically themselves. Older than the internet, it circulated in gay and lesbian slang for decades before resurging on TikTok and other platforms in recent years. Because it comments on how someone presents, tone matters: among friends it lands as warm recognition rather than judgment.
