The Challenge
Ric Sena Presents has produced LGBTQIA+ nightlife events since 2001, filling rooms across the country with large-scale productions and headline talent. The events had scale. The website did not. It looked dated next to the parties it promoted, the team could not update it without outside help, and the path from landing page to ticket purchase had too much friction.
The brief was direct: a site the team could run themselves, with a ticket-buying flow built for how their audience browses, which is on a phone.
The Strategy
We built the site on Webflow so the team could manage events through a CMS without a developer. The design leaned on large video and photography from past events, because footage of a full dancefloor sells the next party better than any copy. Mobile came first in every layout decision, since that is where the audience finds events and buys tickets.
What We Built
- A Webflow build with CMS-driven event management, so the team publishes and updates events on their own
- Mobile-first layouts with a short path from event page to ticket purchase
- Large-format video and image sections that carry the look of the live events onto the site
- Page structures that move a visitor from first interest to a completed ticket order
The Results
Pre-sale tickets now regularly sell out within two days. Before the rebuild, sell-out took five. That is a 60% improvement in pre-sale sell-through. Email opt-ins increased 20%, and bounce rate dropped 30%.
The events were never the problem. Now the website holds up next to them.
