Club Feathers

Club Feathers is a gay nightclub in River Edge, New Jersey. It opened on June 21, 1978, and is recognized as the oldest continuously operating gay club in the state and the last remaining one in North Jersey. Over nearly five decades it survived arson and pressure from local officials to become a beloved regional landmark, and it marked 48 years in business in 2026. Bars and clubs like Feathers have long been more than nightlife. They double as community centers and safe havens where LGBTQ+ people can gather openly, find one another, and build the social ties that sustain the wider movement. Feathers is one example of that enduring role in the New York and New Jersey area.
