Sniffies

Sniffies is a map-based hookup and cruising platform aimed at gay, bisexual, and bi-curious men. Launched in 2018 by former architect Blake Gallagher, it drops user icons and popular meeting spots onto an interactive map, so people can see who is active nearby in real time. Unlike Grindr or Scruff, which lead with profiles and photos, Sniffies leans into anonymous, spontaneous connection and has been called the Google Maps of gay cruising. It began as a web app; a native iOS version arrived in March 2025 with features like push notifications and a safe-for-work blur mode, though Apple briefly pulled it in May 2025 over content rules.
