Cut

"Cut" is a common informal descriptor for a person who has been circumcised, meaning the foreskin covering the head of the penis has been surgically removed.

"Cut" is informal shorthand for circumcised, meaning the foreskin that covers the glans of the penis has been surgically removed. Its opposite is "uncut," meaning uncircumcised or intact. In gay male dating and hookup culture, cut and uncut show up frequently as personal preferences on profiles, alongside notes about size or role. Neither state is better or worse. They are simply two normal anatomical configurations, and preferences are a matter of taste. Circumcision rates vary widely by country, religion, and generation, so what reads as common in one place may be rare in another. Conversations about foreskin have grown more nuanced with the rise of intactivism, a movement opposing routine infant circumcision.
