Anal Sex
Anal sex is sexual activity involving the anus, most often penetration, practiced by people of all genders and orientations.
Anal sex is sexual activity involving the anus, most commonly penetration. People of all sexual orientations and gender identities engage in it, though it is culturally most associated with gay and bisexual men. Like any sexual activity, it is healthiest when it is consensual and involves clear communication and preparation. Because the anus does not self-lubricate, using lubricant reduces the chance of tearing. Condoms and other barrier methods lower the risk of sexually transmitted infections. For HIV prevention, PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is highly effective for people who have receptive anal sex. Pleasure, anatomy, and safety are all part of accurate, inclusive sexual health education.
