Pegging

Pegging is a sexual act in which a person wearing a strap-on dildo penetrates a partner's anus. The term was popularized by sex-advice columnist Dan Savage, who in 2001 ran a reader contest to name the practice; readers chose "pegging." It is most often described in the context of a woman penetrating a man, though people of any gender or orientation may take part. Pegging shifts the usual script around who penetrates and who receives, which is part of why it drew a dedicated word. It is practiced across many relationship configurations, and for some people it can be a comfortable form of gender-affirming or exploratory sexual expression.
