Sensual Attraction

Sensual attraction is the desire for physical, non-sexual closeness with another person, such as cuddling, hugging, or holding hands.

Sensual attraction is the desire for physical closeness and touch with another person that is not sexual in nature. It shows up as wanting to cuddle, hold hands, hug, share a bed, or enjoy other forms of sensory warmth. Communities on the asexual and aromantic spectrums helped popularize the idea that attraction comes in several distinct types, including sexual, romantic, aesthetic, and sensual. Naming sensual attraction separately gives people a way to describe craving affection and closeness even when they feel little or no sexual pull. Many people experience these forms of attraction toward different people, or in different combinations, which is why the language is useful for anyone thinking about how they connect.
