Ace Of Hearts

Ace of hearts is a playing-card symbol for alloromantic asexuals, aces who do experience romantic attraction even though they feel little or no sexual attraction.

Ace of hearts is part of the playing-card symbolism the asexual community uses to describe romantic orientation. The hearts suit stands for alloromantic aces, people who are asexual but still experience romantic attraction and may want dating, partnership, or love. It captures a distinction that is central to ace identity: sexual attraction and romantic attraction are separate, and someone can have one without the other. The card symbols mark romantic orientation in general rather than the specific gender a person is attracted to, so an ace of hearts might also identify as, for example, biromantic or homoromantic. The imagery gives aces a lighthearted, recognizable way to say that emotional connection and romance matter to them.
