Ace-Spectrum

The ace spectrum, short for asexual spectrum, describes the range of identities that fall under or near asexuality. Asexual people (often shortened to "ace") experience little to no sexual attraction. Because that experience varies, asexuality is understood as a spectrum rather than a single fixed point. It includes graysexual or gray-ace people, who feel sexual attraction rarely or only weakly, and demisexual people, who feel it only after forming a strong emotional bond. Being on the ace spectrum says nothing automatic about whether a person dates, has sex, or feels romantic attraction, which is tracked separately as romantic orientation. The framework validates the many ways people do and do not experience desire.
