Adam4Adam, often shortened to A4A, is one of the oldest continuously operating gay dating and social platforms, launched in 2003 as a free website for men to meet other men for friendship, romance, or hookups. It later added a mobile app. By the mid-2000s it ranked among the most popular gay personals sites in the United States, competing with Gay.com and Manhunt. Unlike many rivals, it kept a free-to-use model rather than charging for core features. The platform is also known for weaving sexual health information into profiles and features, including HIV status fields and testing reminders. Newer apps like Grindr and Scruff now dominate the market, but A4A retains a loyal user base.
