Call Me by Your Name

Call Me by Your Name is a 2017 coming-of-age romantic drama directed by Luca Guadagnino, adapted by James Ivory from Andre Aciman's 2007 novel. Set in northern Italy in 1983, it follows 17-year-old Elio Perlman, played by Timothee Chalamet, and Oliver, a 24-year-old graduate student played by Armie Hammer, as they fall in love over a single summer. The film drew wide acclaim for its sensory warmth and its tender, unhurried portrait of first desire. James Ivory won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, becoming, at 89, the oldest competitive Oscar winner at the time. Aciman published a sequel novel, Find Me, in 2019.
