Gym Bunnies

Gym bunny is casual slang for a person, often a gay or bisexual man, who devotes significant time to the gym primarily to improve appearance and build a muscular body rather than strictly for health. Dictionaries including the Oxford English Dictionary define it as someone who spends a lot of time exercising, especially to enhance how they look. The term can be affectionate, self-applied, or lightly teasing, and it points to the visible role gym culture, bodybuilding, and physical presentation play in parts of gay male social life, including circuit-party scenes. Like many community labels, tone depends on context: it can be a compliment, a wink, or a mild stereotype.
