HER is a dating and social app for lesbian, queer, bisexual, sapphic, and nonbinary people. Founder Robyn Exton launched it in London in September 2013 under the name Dattch, frustrated that existing dating sites were designed for gay men rather than queer women. After raising funding from investors tied to Y Combinator, the app was renamed HER in 2015 and moved its headquarters to San Francisco. Beyond matching, it hosts community features, events, and content aimed at the needs of queer women and gender-diverse people, and it has grown to millions of users worldwide. In May 2025, HER was acquired by Match Group. It remains one of the best-known platforms created specifically for the sapphic community.
