Intellectual Attraction

Intellectual attraction is the pull toward someone's mind: the wish to trade ideas, discuss concepts, debate, and enjoy mental stimulation together. It is one of several types of attraction people name when they want to describe connection in more specific terms than "sexual" or "romantic." The framework is especially useful within asexual and aromantic communities, where separating attraction into categories such as sexual, romantic, emotional, aesthetic, and intellectual helps people articulate exactly what draws them to others. Naming intellectual attraction on its own lets someone say they crave a meeting of minds without implying romance or sex. Many people of any orientation experience it as part of how they bond.
