Otter

In gay male culture, an otter is a man who is slim to average in build and noticeably hairy, often described as the in-between of a twink and a bear. The label sits within bear culture's playful animal taxonomy, alongside terms like bear, cub, wolf, and muscle bear, which the community developed to name and celebrate a range of body types and masculine looks. Otters can be slender or athletic, with body and facial hair being the shared thread. Like the rest of this vocabulary, the term grew out of a desire to resist a single narrow beauty standard and to give men outside mainstream ideals language for attraction and belonging.
