Tired
In drag and queer slang, calling something tired means it is unoriginal, overdone, or dull, the opposite of fresh or exciting.
In drag and queer vernacular, tired describes a look, joke, act, or idea that feels stale, overdone, or lacking effort. It is the opposite of fresh, sickening, or serving something new. To call a performer's outfit or a comeback tired is to say it has been seen too many times to impress. The word carries weight in ballroom and drag spaces because those cultures prize reinvention and originality, and a reputation is built on surprising people rather than repeating what everyone has already done. Like much queer slang, it spread into wider use through drag television and social media, but it still lands hardest as playful shade between people who know the reference.
