Transgender Europe (TGEU)
Transgender Europe (TGEU) is an umbrella advocacy organization for the rights and wellbeing of trans and gender-diverse people across Europe and Central Asia.
Transgender Europe (TGEU), now also styled Trans Europe and Central Asia, is an umbrella organization working against discrimination and for the rights and wellbeing of trans and gender-diverse people. It was founded in 2005 in Vienna at the first European Transgender Council and is registered in Berlin. In 2018 its mandate expanded to include Central Asia. TGEU runs the Trans Murder Monitoring project, launched in 2009, which systematically collects and analyzes reports of trans and gender-diverse people murdered worldwide and publishes an annual update shortly before Transgender Day of Remembrance. TGEU is a leading voice in European LGBTQ+ policy advocacy and community organizing.
