The Trevor Project is the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people.
The Trevor Project is the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people, generally serving those under 25. It was founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award-winning short film Trevor, about a young gay teenager who attempts suicide after being rejected by his friends. The organization runs a round-the-clock crisis line by phone, text, and chat, and it built TrevorSpace, an online community for LGBTQ+ youth. It also conducts widely cited research on the mental health of queer young people and advocates for policies that protect them.
