Vogue Femme

Vogue Femme is one of the main styles of voguing, the dance born in the Black and Latino LGBTQ+ ballroom scene of New York City. It grew out of earlier vogue styles in the late 1980s and 1990s and emphasizes exaggerated, fluid femininity, grace, and theatrical emotion. The style is organized around five recognized elements: hands performance, catwalk, duckwalk, floor performance, and spins and dips (the sharp drop to the floor often called a dip). Vogue Femme is performed at balls in categories that reward control, storytelling, and stamina. While it is closely associated with trans women and femme performers, dancers of many identities compete in it today.
