Broadway Bares

Broadway Bares is a yearly burlesque revue that raises money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Choreographer and director Jerry Mitchell launched it in 1992, when he and a group of dancers first performed a striptease at the Splash bar in New York to help friends living with HIV and AIDS. It has since grown into a large, choreographed production featuring Broadway performers and has raised tens of millions of dollars. Held each June, the show is known for its campy themes, elaborate numbers, and blend of showbiz spectacle with grassroots LGBTQ+ health fundraising.
