Crystal, also called Tina or crystal meth, is crystal methamphetamine, a potent stimulant tied to chemsex in some gay and queer male communities.
Crystal is a common name for crystal methamphetamine, a powerful and highly addictive stimulant also known as Tina, meth, or crystal meth. It is one of several drugs associated with chemsex, meaning drug use before or during sex, a practice documented mainly among some men who have sex with men. Crystal can heighten arousal and lower inhibitions and enable long sessions, while carrying serious risks including addiction, psychosis, heart damage, and higher exposure to HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Public health bodies such as the CDC link methamphetamine use among MSM to increased HIV transmission. Harm reduction services, sexual health clinics, and recovery programs support people who use it.
