Chemsex

Chemsex, also called Party and Play or PnP, is the intentional use of specific psychoactive drugs before or during sex to enhance, prolong, or facilitate the experience. The drugs most associated with it are crystal methamphetamine, GHB or GBL, and synthetic cathinones such as mephedrone. The practice is most common among gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men, and has its own shared language and culture. Sessions can last many hours or days. While some people take part without lasting harm, chemsex carries real risks, including overdose (GHB/GBL is easy to overdose on), dependence, HIV and other STI transmission, and mental health strain. Harm reduction services designed for chemsex exist in many cities and clinics.
