Fetish

A fetish is a strong sexual response focused on a particular object, material, body part, or scenario. Common examples include feet, leather, latex, rubber, uniforms, and gear. Fetishes are widespread and vary enormously from person to person. In LGBTQ+ communities, kink and fetish cultures are well developed and often organized around shared interests, from the gay leather subculture that took shape in US cities in the 1940s and 1950s to leather bars, gear events, and online groups. Practiced with informed consent among adults, fetish is a recognized and ordinary part of human sexuality. It becomes a clinical concern only when it causes distress or harm.
