Gag (Kink)

A gag is a device placed in or over the mouth to muffle or prevent speech during BDSM play. Common types include the ball gag, bit gag, ring gag, and cloth or tape gags. Gagging often appears in dominance and submission scenes, where restricting a partner's ability to speak reinforces a sense of surrender and control. Because a gagged person cannot use a spoken safeword, responsible play depends on agreed non-verbal safe signals, such as dropping a held object or a set hand gesture. Partners also watch for breathing difficulty and signs of distress, and they only use gags with clear, ongoing consent negotiated beforehand.
