Heterosexual Pride Flag

The heterosexual pride flag, also called the straight flag, is a flag intended to represent heterosexuality. The best known version uses alternating black and white stripes echoing the rainbow pride flag. Several of these flags are tied to "straight pride," a conservative reaction to LGBTQ+ visibility, and the idea has been promoted in campus events, by Russia's United Russia party in 2015, and at a 2019 Boston straight pride parade organized by Super Happy Fun America. Critics argue the flags borrow the visual language of pride while missing its purpose, since heterosexual people do not face systemic oppression for their orientation. A separate straight ally flag exists to signal support for LGBTQ+ people rather than straight pride.
