Straight Ally Flag

The straight ally flag is a symbol used by heterosexual and cisgender people to show visible support for LGBTQ+ rights. It combines the black and white stripes of the heterosexual flag with a large rainbow-colored letter "A" for ally laid over them. The black and white field represents straight people, while the rainbow "A" ties that identity to solidarity with the queer community. The design signals that allyship is an active choice rather than simply the absence of prejudice. It is distinct from "straight pride" flags, which are often associated with countermovements opposed to LGBTQ+ visibility rather than support for it.
