National Coalition Of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP), The

The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP) is a network of local member organizations across the United States and Ontario, Canada, that work to reduce violence and its impact on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people. Its membership has included dozens of community-based anti-violence projects. NCAVP documents hate and bias crimes, intimate partner violence within LGBTQ+ relationships, sexual assault, and other forms of violence, publishing annual and special reports that provide some of the only national data on the subject. Member groups also deliver direct services to survivors, while the coalition supports local prevention, advocacy, and education efforts. It is coordinated by the New York City Anti-Violence Project.
