Pillow Princess

Slang for a person, most often a lesbian or queer woman, who prefers to receive sexual pleasure rather than give it.

A pillow princess is someone, usually a lesbian or queer woman, who prefers to receive sexual pleasure and reciprocates little or not at all. Dictionary.com traces the phrase to LGBTQ+ media about lesbian dating in the 1990s, where "pillow" suggested passivity and "princess" implied special treatment (princess has been slang for a queer person since the 1960s). It overlaps with being a "bottom" but focuses specifically on the receiving-without-giving dynamic. The term can be affectionate, teasing, or a pointed critique of a partner seen as selfish. Like most community-internal sexual labels, its tone depends on who says it and why. A less common male equivalent is "pillow prince."
