Platinum Star Gay

Platinum Star Gay is a playful, entirely informal label used inside gay male spaces. It builds on "Gold Star Gay," which describes a gay man who has never had sex with a woman. The platinum version adds that the man was also delivered by C-section, so the joke goes that he has never had contact with a vagina even at birth. The term belongs to the camp tradition of gay men cataloging and teasing about sexual histories, and it has no clinical or official meaning. Like all such status labels, it is meant as humor and should never be used to rank, judge, or pressure anyone about their past. Many people dislike these hierarchies entirely.
