Aesthetic Attraction

Aesthetic attraction is being drawn to a person's appearance, style, or beauty without any sexual or romantic desire attached. Someone might find another person striking and enjoy looking at them the way they would admire a painting or a sunset. The term is used often in asexual and aromantic communities, where separating the different kinds of attraction helps people describe their experiences with precision. Other commonly named types include sexual, romantic, and platonic attraction. Naming aesthetic attraction on its own makes clear that appreciating beauty and wanting intimacy are separate feelings that do not have to occur together.
