Escort

An escort is a person who is paid to accompany a client, and in many contexts the arrangement involves sexual services. Escorting is one form of sex work, and it exists within LGBTQ+ communities as it does more broadly. Some queer people, including trans women, gay and bi men, and young people rejected by their families, engage in sex work or survival sex when other options are limited. Many LGBTQ+ and civil rights organizations, including the ACLU and the National Center for Lesbian Rights, support decriminalizing consensual adult sex work, arguing that criminalization pushes workers away from health care and police protection and raises their risk of violence, especially for trans women of color and immigrants.
