Ey / Em / Eir

Ey/em/eir is a set of gender-neutral neopronouns, meaning newer pronouns coined outside the familiar she, he, and they. They come from the Spivak pronoun tradition, named for mathematician Michael Spivak, and are also called Elverson pronouns. They decline much like he/him/his: "Ey is going to the party. I saw em yesterday. That book is eirs." Some people choose ey/em specifically because singular they does not feel right for them, since nonbinary identity does not always mean a neutral or ambiguous gender. Neopronouns like these give people a wider range of ways to name themselves. The most respectful approach is simply to use the set a person tells you they use.
