Gayby

Gayby blends "gay" and "baby" to describe a child of LGBTQ+ parents. It is usually used with warmth and pride inside queer families and communities, celebrating kids born or raised by same-sex couples and other LGBTQ+ parents. The word gained visibility through media like the 2015 Australian documentary Gayby Baby, which followed children of same-sex families, and it is sometimes tied to talk of a "gayby boom" describing rising rates of parenting among LGBTQ+ people. A gayby's own sexual orientation is not implied by the term; it points to the parents, not the child.
