Homoromantic

Homoromantic describes a person who experiences romantic attraction toward people of the same gender. It sits on the romantic-orientation spectrum, which describes who someone is drawn to romantically rather than sexually. The term is used especially within asexual and aromantic communities, where romantic and sexual attraction are understood as separate things that do not always line up. A homoromantic asexual person, for example, may want a loving relationship with someone of the same gender while feeling little or no sexual attraction to anyone. The word grew out of online communities as people looked for language to describe attraction more precisely. Some homoromantic people also identify as gay or lesbian.
