I Live

"I live" (or "living") is drag and ballroom slang for intense delight, meaning something brings you overwhelming joy.

"I live," or "living," is an expression drawn from Black and Latino ballroom and drag culture that signals intense enjoyment or excitement. To say "I live for this" or simply "I'm living" is to declare that something delights you completely, that you are fully in your element and fed by the moment. The phrase treats joy as vitality itself, as if the experience were what you are alive for. Popularized further through drag performance and shows like RuPaul's Drag Race, it has spread into wider queer and internet usage as a warm, emphatic way to celebrate a look, a performance, or a moment of pure pleasure.
