RuPaul

RuPaul Charles, born November 17, 1960, is an American drag queen, singer, actor, and television host often called the "Queen of Drag." He first broke through in 1993 with the dance-pop album Supermodel of the World and its hit single "Supermodel (You Better Work)," which led to film roles and a national profile. Beginning in 2009 he created, hosted, and co-produced RuPaul's Drag Race, the reality competition that brought drag into the mainstream and earned him multiple Emmy Awards. Through decades of work he has become a global figure for queer visibility and self-expression, and Time named him one of its 100 most influential people in 2017.
