Kitty Girl

Kitty Girl is a term of endearment RuPaul uses on RuPaul's Drag Race to address the contestants and other drag queens. It carries a warm, playful, slightly cheeky tone, roughly meaning "girl" or "darling" within the show's family of performers. The phrase became a signature after RuPaul and the top four queens of All Stars season 3 recorded "Kitty Girl," a finale remix that fans still cite as one of the franchise's best musical numbers. Like much Drag Race vocabulary, it began as in-community slang and spread into wider queer culture through the show. Today people use it affectionately for a fun, spirited queer friend.
