Out (Publication)

Out is an American LGBTQ+ magazine founded in 1992 by Michael Goff in New York City, with Sarah Pettit as a founding editor. It covers news, culture, politics, fashion, and entertainment from a queer perspective and holds the highest circulation of any LGBTQ+ monthly in the United States. For more than three decades it has been a major platform for queer visibility and celebrity coverage. Its best-known feature is the annual Out100, a list honoring the most influential LGBTQ+ people of the year. The title has changed hands several times, and since 2022 it has been owned by Equal Pride, the largest LGBTQ-owned media company in the U.S.
