Per / Per

Per/per is a set of gender-neutral neopronouns, derived from the word "person," used by some non-binary and gender-expansive people.

Per/per is a set of neopronouns, meaning newer pronouns created as alternatives to he, she, and they. Derived from the word "person," the set runs per/per/pers (for example, "Per brought pers book, and I gave it back to per"). Like other neopronouns such as ze/zir or xe/xem, it can be used by anyone but is chosen by some non-binary, genderqueer, and gender-expansive people who feel it fits their identity better than existing options. Neopronouns have circulated in various forms for decades and have become more visible online. Using the pronouns a person tells you they use, neopronouns included, is a basic act of respect.
