Subjective physical attraction describes the idea that finding someone physically appealing is a personal experience shaped by your own tastes, senses, and history, not by any fixed or universal standard of beauty. The word subjective points to the fact that what draws one person in may do nothing for another. In LGBTQ+ conversations about desire, naming attraction as subjective pushes back against narrow beauty hierarchies that sideline certain bodies, races, ages, and gender expressions.
