Watching
Watching refers to the consensual act of observing others engage in sexual activity, common in voyeur and exhibitionist dynamics and at play parties.
In a sexual context, watching describes consensually observing others engage in sexual activity. It can be a passive role at a group setting or play party, or one half of a voyeur and exhibitionist dynamic in which one person enjoys being watched and another enjoys watching. It is a common and accepted form of participation in kink, BDSM, and sex-positive communities across all orientations and gender identities. What separates ethical watching from intrusive voyeurism is consent. Everyone involved must knowingly and willingly agree to be observed. Clear communication about who is watching, what is on display, and where boundaries sit keeps the experience safe and affirming for all parties.
