Zaddy

Zaddy is an admiring slang term for a man who is attractive, stylish, and self-assured, someone with swagger, good clothes, and an air of confidence. It is a playful twist on 'daddy,' and the two overlap, but a zaddy's appeal leans especially on fashion and charisma rather than age or a caretaking vibe alone. The word grew out of African American Vernacular English, where 'daddy' is often pronounced with that softened sound, and it spread through hip-hop, Black queer culture, and social media into wider use. It is used across LGBTQ+ and mainstream communities as a lighthearted, flattering compliment.
