Aroflux

Aroflux describes someone whose experience of romantic attraction fluctuates over time while generally staying on or near the aromantic end of the spectrum.

Aroflux is an identity on the aromantic (aro) spectrum for people whose romantic attraction changes over time. An aroflux person might feel little or no romantic attraction much of the time, then experience more of it, then return toward the aromantic end. The "flux" captures that movement, and the identity stays anchored near aromanticism rather than shifting all the way to strongly romantic. The term comes from online aromantic and asexual communities that built more precise language for how attraction varies from day to day or season to season. It is the romantic counterpart to aceflux, which describes the same fluctuation in sexual attraction. Because romantic and sexual attraction are separate, a person can be aroflux, aceflux, both, or neither.
