Femboy

Femboy is a blend of "femme" and "boy." It describes a person, usually a young or cisgender man (though some trans or male-aligned people use it too), who leans into feminine gender presentation through clothing, makeup, nail polish, or style while still identifying as male. The term is neither a gender identity nor a sexual orientation. It describes how someone presents, not who they are attracted to or how they identify inside. Femboys may be straight, gay, bisexual, or queer, and may or may not consider themselves LGBTQ+. The word appeared as early as the 1990s but took its current, more affectionate meaning through online, anime, and gaming fan cultures. Always follow the language a person uses for themselves.
