Feminine
Feminine refers to traits, behaviors, and styles culturally associated with women and womanhood, qualities any person can embody regardless of gender.
Feminine refers to traits, behaviors, presentations, and styles a culture associates with women or womanhood. These associations are social constructs that shift across cultures and over time, so what reads as feminine in one place or era may differ in another. In LGBTQ+ communities, femininity is understood as a quality any person can express regardless of gender identity or sex assigned at birth. A man, a non-binary person, or a trans woman can all be feminine. Femme identity, for example, treats femininity as a deliberate and self-possessed choice, especially among queer women and others who claim it on their own terms rather than because it is expected of them.
