Folsom Street (Organization)

Folsom Street, historically known as Folsom Street Events, is the San Francisco nonprofit that produces the Folsom Street Fair along with Up Your Alley (also called Dore Alley), a smaller and more locally focused leather and fetish street fair held in July. Growing out of the events first organized in 1984, the organization runs on volunteers and directs proceeds from its fairs to LGBTQ+, HIV/AIDS, and community service groups, distributing significant funds over the decades. It functions as both an event producer and a community anchor for the leather, kink, and BDSM scene in the South of Market neighborhood, sustaining a tradition of sex-positive fundraising and gathering.
