Fraysexual

Fraysexual describes someone who feels sexual attraction to people they barely know, with that attraction fading as they grow closer.

Fraysexual describes a person who feels sexual attraction toward people who are new or unfamiliar, only to have that attraction fade as they get to know someone well. It is often called the opposite of demisexual, where attraction appears only after a close bond forms. Fraysexual people may feel strong desire early on, then find it waning once intimacy and familiarity grow. Both sit on the asexuality spectrum, since attraction is tied to the degree of connection rather than felt freely. The romantic version, frayromantic, follows the same pattern with romantic feelings. The term is used within online asexual communities and is descriptive of a real pattern many people recognize in themselves.
