Logo (Network)

An American cable channel launched in 2005 as the first ad-supported U.S. TV network aimed at LGBTQ audiences.

Logo, or Logo TV, is an American cable channel that launched on June 30, 2005, owned by Viacom, now part of Paramount. It was the first advertiser-supported commercial television network in the United States aimed at LGBTQ viewers, a landmark from a major media company. Logo aired original series, films, documentaries, and news reflecting queer life, and it was the original home of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' before that show moved to sister channel VH1. Over the years the network scaled back its dedicated LGBTQ programming and leaned into general entertainment and reruns, but it remains a significant chapter in the history of mainstream queer media representation.
