Nasty Pig

Nasty Pig is a gay apparel brand founded in New York City in 1994 by partners David Lauterstein and Fred Kearney, who began designing and selling clothing from their West 23rd Street apartment. The brand became a fixture of gay male culture with a bold, sex-positive aesthetic spanning streetwear, jockstraps, harnesses, and fetish gear. Its name deliberately reclaims the 'nasty' label once used against queer sexuality. Beyond fashion, Nasty Pig has been a steady community supporter, backing HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ+ causes. The company marked its 30th anniversary in 2024, and its founders, who are also life partners, were recognized with StartOut's 2023 Advocate Award.
